Hypnosis

What is hypnosis

Most people are only familiar with show hypnosis. People go on stage and behave as if they are being controlled by others. Show hypnosis cannot be compared with hypnotherapy. Therapeutic hypnosis is much more like meditation. The difference to meditation is that we dissolve stressful issues during hypnosis. Many people think that one is unconscious or asleep during hypnosis. It only looks like that from the outside. During hypnosis, you feel deeply relaxed. You are clear-headed and very focussed. You also do not lose control during the session. You control everything you discuss during the session.

The advantage of hypnotherapy is that it is much more efficient than other therapy methods. When your eyes are closed and your attention is focussed on your inner world, you gain access to your emotions and can perceive stress more clearly. We resolve these stressful emotions together in order to lead a happy life again.

Our first contact

After the online appointment booking, you will receive an e-mail with all the information. This includes a relaxation audio that you can listen to in the comfort of your own home. Afterwards, we will get to know each other in a personal conversation and you will receive your first hypnosis session.

If nothing stands in the way of therapy, you will be gently guided into a trance. We mainly work with resolving hypnosis.
We take as much time as you need. At the end of the session, you will be gently brought out of the hypnosis. There is no need to process everything immediately – the effect can continue to unfold quietly on its own.

All sessions can be realised in German, Turkish and English.

What is hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy works directly with emotional causes stored in the subconscious. In a trance, critical thinking takes a back seat, allowing feelings to be experienced and processed. This makes it easier to recognize old behavioral patterns, develop new perspectives, and release inner blocks. Hypnosis helps you become aware of your emotions and manage them consciously.

How does hypnosis feel

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation and inner awareness. Everyone experiences it differently – some feel lightness or a pleasant heaviness, while others notice thoughts, feelings, or inner images clearly. The body relaxes while the mind remains open and focused.
You remain awake and fully aware throughout hypnosis. Small physical reactions, such as yawning or itching, may occur – these are normal and can be allowed. You remain in control at all times.

Am I hypnotizable

Almost everyone can be hypnotized. Only about 10–15 % of people have difficulty, for example due to skepticism, refusal, or trouble following instructions.
Certain mental health conditions or medications (e.g., antidepressants, benzodiazepines) can also make entering a trance harder. Anxious or perfectionistic people often find it difficult to relax.
A preliminary consultation that addresses questions and concerns usually makes it easier to enter hypnosis.

How can I prepare for hypnotherapy

Please arrive on time to avoid stress before the session, and plan to take it easy afterward so you can relax. Listen to the relaxation audio you receive before your appointment, and review the provided videos, information sheet, and questionnaire in advance if possible.
If you are sensitive to caffeine, avoid caffeinated drinks 3–4 hours before the session, and refrain from non-prescribed strong painkillers, alcohol, or consciousness-altering substances for at least 48 hours beforehand. If you take prescribed medication, please inform us in advance.

Will I be aware of everything during hypnosis

Do not expect to become unconscious or faint during hypnosis. The trance in hypnotherapy is characterized by deep relaxation, sometimes accompanied by brief periods of “mind wandering.”
This trance is ideal for therapy and allows deeper, longer-lasting effects than overly drowsy states. You will be aware of what happens. You will not experience a blackout.

How will I feel after a hypnotherapy session

After a hypnosis session, you may feel tired or, on the contrary, lighter and freer — both are normal. Allow yourself to rest and avoid strenuous activities. These experiences show that inner processes are in motion.
Occasionally, initial reactions may occur: you might feel more emotional or notice physical sensations more strongly, which usually subside after a few days. More vivid dreams in the days following the session are also a positive sign that your subconscious is actively working.

Can hypnotherapy change my personality

The opposite is the case. With the help of hypnotherapy, you can remove the blockages that prevent you from being the person you actually are. Everything that makes you as a person is simply allowed to be there without you having to fear that you will be punished or hurt for it. We resolve the emotional baggage behind the causes that keep you from being free.

What factors can make hypnotherapy more difficult

Hypnosis only works when there is willingness, trust, and openness to self-reflection. Strong fear, shame, perfectionism, or avoiding uncomfortable emotions can make the process more difficult, as can unrealistic expectations or the desire for immediate change. In some cases, other therapeutic approaches may be more suitable. Certain medications can affect the ability to enter trance. Patience is essential: deeply rooted issues take time and often unfold over several sessions on different levels.

How many hypnotherapy sessions are needed and at what intervals

The number of hypnosis sessions cannot be determined exactly, as everyone is different. Some issues, such as certain phobias, can bring relief after just one session, but usually 3–6 sessions are recommended. Ideally, sessions are scheduled two weeks apart to give the subconscious time to process; in urgent cases, weekly appointments are also possible.

Who should not be treated with hypnosis

Hypnosis is not suitable for everyone. This includes people suffering from psychosis or schizophrenia. After cardiovascular events such as a heart attack, stroke, thrombosis, or embolism, hypnosis should only be considered after at least six months. Hypnosis is also not performed on individuals with intellectual disabilities.
For certain personality disorders, such as borderline personality disorder, other therapy methods, like dialectical behavior therapy, are more appropriate than hypnosis.
